The OGRed Deadcan be played at 60fps on console thanks to its recent remaster, but the acclaimed sequel remains locked at 30fps.

It’s one of very few high profile PlayStation 4 era launches for which that is still the case.

Unfortunately, these mods will not work on what Digital Foundry refers to as “unexploited, retail consoles” but their demonstration is enough to show us what many games,Red Dead Redemption 2included, are capable of if given that opportunity to run at 60fps.

TheRed Dead Redemption 2segment of the video interestingly shows the bigger ‘most replayed’ viewership spike, which I can’t say I’m too surprised at.

“Out of all the games I’ve played on my PS5,RDR2andBloodborneare the two that absolutely need and deserve a 60fps patch,” added another.

WithRDR’s PC port ready to launch, perhaps now this frees up some time for devs to prepare that long-awaited new-gen patch for its sequel.
