This comes after rumours of a remake or remaster ofRed Dead Redemption 2that has since been cancelled. In the meantime, during aninterviewwith Youtube channel sackchief, Wiethoff shared his thoughts on the future of the franchise. As the voice of John Marston in both games, Wiethoff should have the insider scoop on Rockstar’s plans. However, he kept his cards quite close to his chest when he revealed developing a sequel would be difficult without losing an authentic Wild West theme.

WithRed Dead Redemptionbeing set in 1911 andRed Dead Redemption 2being set even earlier in 1899, setting a sequel after 1911 may result in some issues. As a result, Wiethoff believes another prequel would be better suited to the story and a way of showing fans the events that led up to Arthur’s story.

If this proved to be the case, it could see Dutch Van der Linde himself beRed Dead Redemption 3’sprotagonist which could see us finally get answers about the events that transpired in Blackwater.
