Red Dead Redemption and Undead Nightmare coming to modern consoles this month

The rumours are… kind of true, as what is widely considered to be one of the greatest video games of all time is getting a port.

Red Dead Redemptionwill be coming to Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4, and it will be backwards compatible on PS5. The game is, of course, already playable on Xbox Series X and Xbox One consoles, but wasremoved from PS4 last year.

“Red Dead Redemptiontells the story of former outlaw John Marston as he journeys across the sprawling expanses of the American West and Mexico to track down the last remaining members of the notorious Van der Linde Gang in a bid to save his family,” reads the press release.

“Relive, or experience for the first time, the events immediately following the epic tale of honour and loyalty in the 2018 blockbusterRed Dead Redemption 2as Marston hunts down his former friends and outlaws Bill Williamson, Javier Escuella, and his former gang leader, Dutch van der Linde as the era of the cowboy comes to its end.”

The press release continues: “Red Dead RedemptiononNintendo SwitchandPS4also includesUndead Nightmare, the hallowed story expansion that reimagines the world ofRed Dead Redemptionas Marston fights to survive a relentless zombie horde and searches for a cure in a spooky, supernatural twist on the Western genre.”

TheRed Dead Redemptionand Undead Nightmare bundle will be coming to PlayStation and Nintendo Switch digitally on 17 August, and a physical release will be available 13 October.
