Red Dead Redemption is about to get a ton of brand-new content

Red Dead Redemptionfans are bracing themselves for a ton of brand new content in Rockstar Games’ Wild West classic.

After waiting over 14 years,Rockstar Gamesfinally announced thatRed Dead Redemptionis officially being ported to PCbundled with its expansion,Undead Nightmare. Originally released in 2010, up until recently, fans ofRDRhad to make do with emulation onPCbut thankfully, that will soon be a thing of the past.

“Experience the story of former outlaw John Marston as he tracks down the last remaining members of the notorious Van der Linde Gang in the PC debut of the critically acclaimed predecessor toRed Dead Redemption 2,” reads the description of the game.

This long-awaited PC port will come with exclusive features such as a 4K resolution with up to 144hz, ultra and super ultrawide monitor support, adjustable draw distances, shadow quality settings and much more. However, arguably the best feature of all will bemodsupport.

With that in mind, fans are already getting excited at the prospect of all sorts of mods coming toRed Dead Redemption. “LET’S GO!!!! The mods are gonna be great,”rejoicedFragrant_Inside_9842.

“Trying to combine two games with versions of RAGE that are built for different generations of the console will be difficult,” explained Incachu, bringing expectations crashing down to Earth. “RDR2brought a lot of graphical and physics innovations that simply wouldn’t have been possible on a game engine or hardware of 2010.”

Nonetheless, we can’t wait to see what the modding community comes up with, whether it’s improved visuals or new content. Heck, I’m hoping to seeResident Evil 3’sNemesis inUndead Nightmare.

Red Dead RedemptionandUndead Nightmareofficially arrive on PC on 29 October 2024.
