Game adaptations are all the rage, especially as Hollywood has now realised that they’re capable of winning awards.
There was once a time when it felt as if every video game adaptation was a colossal box office flop, but that’s certainly no longer the case.
The Last of Us,Fallout, Twisted Metal, andThe Super Mario Bros. Movieare proof that if you respect the source material, you can end up with a really successful project.

Of course, a couple of duds continue to slip through the cracks. I’m looking at yourBorderlands.
The ongoing slew of adaptations isn’t set to end anytime soon, with TV and film iterations ofHorizon Zero Dawn,God of War,Ghost of Tsushima, Minecraft,The Legend of Zelda,Pacific Drive, Until Dawn, The Sims, andMass Effectall on the way.
There’s one franchise that I know I’m not alone in thinking would make a fantastic prestige TV series, and that franchise isRed Dead Redemption.
I hardly doubt I need to convince you of its potential, butRockstarhas seemingly never been open to developing such a project.

That hasn’t stopped fans from discussing the possibility, particularly regarding whether such an adaptation could be as critically successful as the likes ofFalloutandThe Last of Us.

Personally, I’m in the former camp. I think such a series, or film, could be a huge success - if only Rockstar was willing to take the plunge.
