Over the years, other than perhaps the OGResident Evil 2andResident Evil 4, there are not many games that I’ve put in more hours than the original remake. Honestly, I can still fire up the 2002 remake and it still feels like I’m experiencing a relatively new game, it’s that damn good.
That being said, it has been 22 years since theResident Evilremake was released for the Nintendo GameCube, so if the recent rumours are true that it’s going to be remade again, I think this will once more be a welcomed addition to new and returning fans alike.
Assharedin a Reddit post, according to a known leaker of video game information, DanielRPK (via Patreon) and TwitteruserPRE_Alarabiya, the originalResident Evilwill be getting its second full remake to be released in 2026. This follows previous rumours that Capcom is set to announce anothernew Resident Evil gamethis year that will allegedly be released in 2025.

Yet, as much as I’d love to see another modern remake of the OG game, I think it’s long overdue that we get remakes of not onlyResident Evil Code: Veronicabut the cult classicResident Evil Outbreak.
The most recent game in the series to be released is the brilliantResident Evil 4remake out now on PC, PlayStation and Xbox.
