The last Resident Evil game to launch wasResident Evil 4(2023), a fantastic remake that may have implications for the next mainline entry

While nothing else is really known about the game, insiders claimCapcomhas big plans for the sequel, aiming for a smash-hit in terms of review scores.

This comes from insider Dusk Golem, who recentlyclaimed“not only is Resident Evil 9 just an ambitious game, there hasn’t been a non-remake Resident Evil game that’s gotten the level of critical success to get a 90+ critical score. Hear Capcom is gunning really hard to make this great.”

As the post states, of course Capcom wants the game to succeed, and it’s not like previous titles haven’t delivered the spooks, scares and action set-pieces the series is now known for.
