Resident Evil 9 release date is way sooner than we’d imagined, says insider

Resident Evil 9is coming way sooner than we’d imagined, according to one of the most reliable industry insiders on all things Resident Evil.

It’s fair to sayResident Evilfans have been eating better than a zombie loose in Raccoon City Police Department of late. In 2023,Capcomtreated us to theResident Evil 4remake, a staggering reimagining of the classic game.

But the newer games are hardly slouching either:Resident Evil Village, the eighth mainline entry, is easily one of the best in the series.

“In the end, all these similarities and influences fromVillage’s contemporaries both do and don’t work,” reads GAMINGbible’s8/10 review ofVillage.

It’s also worth notingResident Evil 7absolutely slapped, so I’m incredibly keen to see how Capcom ends this trilogy withResident Evil 9. And fortunately, it turns out we’ll probably find out sooner than we’d originally hoped.

According to prominent Resident Evil insiderAestheticGamer, who previously accurately leaked details ofResident Evil Village, claims thatResident Evil 9could arrive as soon as January 2025.

This comes followingoriginal concernsthatResident Evil 9had been internally delayed, though it seems these were simply “murmurs”.

It is, of course, worth noting that AestheticGamer’s track record isn’t spotless, so take everything with the usual pinch of salt.

IfResident Evil 9truly is being planned for an early 2025 release, then I would imagine we’ll be seeing something official very soon.
