
It will come as no surprise to fans of the series but at some point, we will likely getResident Evil 9, a follow-up to 2021’sResident Evil Village. But what may surprise some is that five games are reportedly in the works from Capcom’s ever-popular survival horror series.
The last game to be released in Capcom’s series was theResident Evil 4remake of 2023. Alongside the success of new stories being told, such asResident Evil 7andResident Evil Village, fans have enjoyed remakes that began with the Nintendo GameCube classic of 2002.

On the Reddit forum, fans have been also speculating that the original game in the series will be getting another remake. Sure, the 2002 remake still holds up well today especially when playing its remaster, but it’s an intriguing prospect nonetheless of whatCapcomcould achieve with this classic using the RE Engine. Fans have also been itching forResident Evil Outbreakto be remade and outside of the series,Dino Crisisis a constant popular choice amongst the community.

At this time, we should take all rumours with a pinch of salt until proven otherwise. That being said, with a bit of luck, Capcom might announce at least one Resident Evil game this year. As they say, watch this space.
