In recent years, especially with Capcom’s Resident Evil remakes the survival horror genre has never been hotter. However, I’m sure the 90s and early 2000s might have something to say about that.
Before the somewhat recent revival of the survival horror genre,indiedevelopers have been keeping fans entertained in between and beyond. Though I’m glad we seem to be seeing fewerP.T.-inspired first-person horrors nowadays. Speaking of which,Konami, I’m still angry with you for cancelling Hideo Kojima’sSilent Hills. Thankfully, the legendary Japanese developer does have another intriguinghorror game in the works coming to Xbox.

One of the other most popular survival horror series’ is Amnesia, which could be argued is at least in some part an inspiration ofP.T. Much like the cancelled Konami cult classic, the Amnesia series has sparked an endless amount of similar games and if you understandably roll your eyes at that thought, the topic of today’s discussion might be worth your consideration.
