One of the best Resident Evil games is getting a surprise release later this year.
When it comes to survival horror, few do it better than theCapcomseries,Resident Evil. Since the release of the original in 1996, it has been one of the pioneers of the genre and is still going strong today.

In 2002, we were treated to one of the best remakes of all time withResident Evilon theNintendoGameCube. Capcom would release another successful remake in 2019 withResident Evil 2, offering a new take on the 1998 classic for both veteran and new fans alike.

The success of theResident Evil 2remake was perhaps the inspiration for other remakes that followed, namelyDead Space,Alone in the Darkand more recently,Silent Hill 2. Now, over five years since its release, theResident Evil 2remake is heading to compatible iPhone, iPad and Mac devices.
That being said, theResident Evil 2port on Apple devices follows in the footsteps ofResident 7: Biohazard,Resident Evil Villageas well as theResident Evil 4remake, and it’s fair to say that those portsshared the same level of successas its PC and console counterparts.

While each of the ports looks visually impressive, the clustered touch controls aren’t exactly the prettiest thing we’ve ever seen and could even get in the way of the on-screen action.
Interestingly, the screenshotssharedon the Apple Store do not show the on-screen touch controls, probably for obvious reasons. As a massive Resident Evil fan, I’ll be rooting forRE2to have a lot more success than its mobile predecessors.
