Since its inception way back in 1996 and from the genius mind of Wes Craven (at least for the first four movies), the Scream movie franchise has been a firm favourite of fans of the horror genre.
The Screammoviefranchise offers a perfect blend of horror, goofiness and a dose of ‘Who did it?’ mystery to keep fans on their toes throughout each entry. Though it’s always kind of obvious who the killer or killers might be in each movie, yet that doesn’t stop fans from having a blast.

While a release date has not been announced forScream VII, it is expected to arrive at some point between 2024 and 2025. Without giving any spoilers away, the two Scream movies post-2022 centred around the character’s Sam Carpenter (Melissa Barrera) and her sister, Tara Carpenter (Jenna Ortega). So naturally, we would assume thatScream VIIwould be a continuation of those character’s stories, right? Well, that might not be the case, because at this time Melissa Barrera will reportedly play no role inScream VII.
Production forScream VIIwould have begun long before Melissa Barrera was reportedly dropped from the movie, so it will be interesting to see how it will develop moving forward.
The film’s director Christopher Landon has since commented on the reports,saying, “This is my statement: Everything sucks. Stop yelling. This was not my decision to make.”
