Granted, as a big fan of the series, I was a little disappointed thatKonamihad skipped giving us a modern remake of the originalSilent Hillthat was released onPlayStationin 1999 (and no, I’m not countingShattered Memories) but given thatSilent Hill 2is one of my favourite video games ever, I won’t be complaining too much.

Variety is the spice of life, as they say, and whether we like any video game is an individual preference. However, when it comes to a classic title such asSilent Hill 2, it can spark heated discussion as fans may demand nothing short of perfection.
That being said, it seems that developer Bloober Team may have taken notice of community feedback and redesigned the original character model of James Sunderland in theSilent Hill 2remake. As shared in a Redditpost, an update was initially noticed on SteamDB that updated an icon with James Sunderland’s face.
Unfortunately, the link used to share the suspected redesign in Reddit is no longer active but thankfully, a comparison image wassharedon Discord which compares the original James Sunderland looking in the mirror at the beginning of the game with the two versions of the remake.

This apparent redesign could mean absolutely nothing in terms of the full release and it could be a mere concept image of James Sunderland. I guess we’ll know for sure when the next trailer for theSilent Hill 2remake drops.
At the time of writing, theSilent Hill 2remake does not have a release date but it is expected to be released on PC and PlayStation 5 this year.
