Despite its success and plans to make a sequel, plans were soon scrapped when EA acquired the exclusive gaming license toThe Simpsonsback in 2005. However, there could be a catch but one that is dependent upon EA. With the publishers owning the IP, if another company should happen to buy them out in the future, they will inherit the rights and in turn, could be the ones to give us aThe Simpsons: Hit & Runsequel. Although this is a long shot, it’s a reminder that it is possible.
It remains to be seen if we will ever see a sequel to the hit game or even a remaster but until then, we will have to live in hope.
