The Simpsons Hit & Run is without a doubt one of the best TV show spin-off games to ever exist, and we could have gotten sequels.
Not having one in a while really makes you appreciate how good theSimpsonsgames actually were, and I’ll always cherish fond memories of running over Springfield citizens in a rocket car and having a dance battle with God at the end ofThe Simpsons Game.
Take a look at the best Simpsons games ever made below
I think we can all agreeThe Simpsons Hit & Runis where most of our nostalgia lies though, which is why it pains me to say that we could have gotten a few sequels if Vivendi Games played ball.

Lead designer of the game Joe McGinn recently appeared in avideofor the Summoning Salt YouTube channel, to shed a bit more light on the game and why we never got another one.
They said the publisher was offered a “deal to make three sequels, with all Simpsons rights and voice actors, for the preferred price of zero dollars.”
Sounds like a good deal right? After all,The Simpsonsis one of the most successful animated sitcoms of all time.
Unfortunately McGinn explained that “some crazy person at the publisher [Vivendi Games]–we never found out who–said no” to the deal.

“I don’t know if it needed 3 but it definitely deserved a sequel. We got cheated”saidone fan in a Reddit thread discussing the failed sequels.
“Loved that game. It’s a crime it was never remastered or re-released or something” added another.
Perhaps one day we’ll seeThe Simpsons Hit & Runagain, after all loads of long-dead series have been brought back with remasters or surprise sequels, and with the TV show dwindling perhaps video games will be the next big Simpsons thing again.
