Skyrim: End Times adds a brutal new challenge for the hardcore players

I don’t know about you but when I’m exploring the vast open-world of the latest RPG, the fact that the world may end at any moment is not too much of a pressing concern to me.

My missing child or the end of humanity as we know it can wait as I’ve heard there’s a rare piece of armour over yonder and that was definitely the case during my playthrough ofThe Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.

InThe Elder ScrollsV: Skyrim,it is kind of expected that we will fulfill the Dragonborn prophecy and save the world, even if it takes us many real-life hours to do so.

However, what if we had a time limit? That was apparently the thought of one creator who has made the End Times mod forSkyrim.

“Thismodessentially mimics that feature. Alduin is the world eater, and the only person who can stop him is the Dragonborn. If DB is just lounging around all day doing Skooma and crafting iron daggers, you can bet this giant dragon isn’t just going to wait patiently for you to learn how to defeat him!”

As a result, the mod adds a timer to the game that counts the days and warns the player when Alduin is going to attack. If you run out of time, Alduin will attack you and rain fire from the sky which results in a “Game Over” end screen. Additionally, you can programme the mod to initiate a boss fight instead.

This mod and thousands of others are free to download over on Nexus Mods so don’t miss out if you want to add an extra challenge to yourSkyrimsave.
