Skyrim just got a drop-dead gorgeous Unreal Engine 5 remake

We never tire ofSkyrim, even though it’s not as beautiful as it once was when compared with new RPGs.

Consequently, any opportunity we get to return to its shores, we’ll take, even if we can’t play those experiences.

ThisUnreal Engine5 remake of the popularBethesdatitle showcases whatThe Elder Scrolls Vwould look like if made today.

We’ve got to say, it looks gorgeous.

YouTuber Lee Torres is behind this stunning transformation of one of the less attractive settlements of the game.

Morthal inSkyrimhas never looked so beautiful

In Torres’ own words, “Morthal is, to be frank, no-one’s favouriteSkyrimcity […] To me, it always seemed so dreary and depressing, so I just dialled it up to eleven with the swamp Viking city vibes.

“[This is] part of an ongoing project to visualise a more realistic and lore accurate scale to Tamriel’s cities.”

Although there’s a darker atmosphere to the location, it’s far from the “dreary” visuals Torres described.

Sadly, we can’t explore Morthal for ourselves, as this isn’t a mod but a fan-made showcase instead. Nonetheless, it gives us hope for the future of The Elder Scrolls, specificallyElder Scrolls VI.

“I need these videos to be a game…” expressed another YouTuber user named @anon78747, “Just imagine getting this level of remaster for a game this big, it would be game of the decade.”
