Skyrim meets The Sims in stunning new RPG

Have you ever dreamt of experiencing the gameplay loop of The Sims with the added bonus of being able to step inside a time machine?

I certainly have.

I’ve spent many, many hours over the years playing the various iterations ofThe Sims, most of which are set in a contemporary unspecified time.

That’s not true of all instalments though, as I cannot omit to mention 2011’sThe Sims Medievalwhich I happened to enjoy.

It’s always slightly saddened me that the concept of transporting The Sims’ format to additional time periods and cultures has never truly been thoroughly explored.

While it awaits to be seen if Maxis orEAwill return to the idea, a new contender has entered the life simulation ring.

Take a look atVikings Dynastyin action below.

“Narrowly escaping certain death after your ship is sunk in a thunderstorm, you find yourself in uninhabited territory,” reads the synopsis.

“Survive against all odds in an ever-changing environment while you explore the wide open world and fight for your life, relying only on your abilities and natural resources.”

That’s the combat box ticked for those of you who have arrived here with a dominating interest inSkyrim.

For those in The Sims camp, your survival will also depend on you building a sufficient shelter which will, in time, develop into a thriving settlement where you’ll also have to navigate the social strictures of viking life, gaining trust and power in the settlement’s hierarchy.

The developers ofVikings Dynastyhave promised a dynamic weather system, seasonal in-game changes, sea expeditions, and a vast map filled with islands, fjords, and caves that all hold unique secrets.

All in all, it sounds like the game is shaping up nicely as, I should note, it remains in development.
