That is what recently happened to one player who took to r/skyrim to share their discovery.

In a screenshot of their in-game inventory, we can see a regular looking chest simply called ‘Do Not Delete’.

“What is the ‘Do Not Delete’ chest? I bought it from a merchant. I’m on PS5,” theywrote.

It wasn’t long before knowledgeable fans flocked to the post to share their knowledge about the mysterious chest but it seems the answer is pretty straightforward.

The chest is usually found within homes and businesses across Skyrim and is in fact counted as a glitch to be found with a merchant.

There are four variations of the chest but they are each used to set your bounty for certain actions that may be performed during the Thieves Guild side quests in Riften.

Additionally, NPCs will comment on the crime as if it were theft, even if it appears that no item was stolen,” the official Elder Scrolls Wikipedia page explains.

Fans also claim that these chests can be dropped and used as a little boost into otherwise inaccessible areas which is pretty handy considering how much parkour takes place inSkyrim.
