Skyrim players floored by alternate ending that saves us a ton of bother

If doing this job has told me anything, it’s that gamers will find new ways of doing things in their favourite games, often pushing against what the developers intended, or just circumventing the traditional path.

When it comes toSkyrim, this happens a lot. In fact, one player has discovered a way to bring a particular quest to a halt quickly, without any bother.

Skyrimseems like the perfect game to play over the Christmas break

Explaining what happenedon Reddit, MemeLordInc shared that they had finished the Blood on the Ice quest uniquely.

While they were working on the quest, they found out that you don’t need to wait the requisite days for a killing to occur.

“Instead of going to the steward, you can go to Wuunferth directly,” they said.

This brings up a new dialogue option and allow you to present the evidence to end the case, instead of waiting three days and having another murder occur.

“You can then also go directly from Wuunferth to the market, no need to wait for nighttime or anything,”saidunwisebumperstickers in a follow-up reply, expanding on the freedom of the quest.

While some had no idea of this andexclaimed, “Jaw. Effing. Drop!” other users discuss how they always do the quest this way and assume the developers wanted players to complete it like that.

According to one player, “I’ve never done it any other way. I always save the second victim. I thought that WAS how you were supposed to do it.”

I’ve never finished this quest before, at least I don’t remember it. However, I plan on replayingSkyrimover the Christmas holidays, so I’ll keep this in mind when I reach the quest.
