
A sequel toSonic Heroescould actually be in development, and it seems to be gearing up for a 2025 launch.
WhenSonicHeroeswas released in 2003, critics were undecided on its success, with the majority of reviews somewhat average in nature.
Yet, for fans such as myself, it’s easily a classic of the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise.

In the words of GAMINGbible’s Sam Cawley, it should be remade.
“I hope to high heaven that it is [remade], because God knows it needs and deserves it,”their article reads.
Perhaps it could be argued that nostalgia is playing its part here, but that doesn’t alter the facts that many fans believe the game “really wasn’t as bad as some say”.

We could debate this topic until we’re blue in the face, but that isn’t whySonic Heroesis at the forefront of our minds right now.
The possibility that, after all this time, we might finally see a sequel is quite the revelation. But is it true?
As with all rumours, we need to remain cautious about such information – if it isn’t from an official source, it could be bogus.
That said, the individual who’s shared this information does have an element of credibility.

Twitter user @sonicas0 shared a “future programme” of upcoming Sonic mobile games, stating, “Segahardlight is responsible for the development of these three games They will be released for Android and IOS in 2025 and 2026.”
Following on from this, the same individual thenadded, “Also, the ‘SHR’ title has been under construction since 2023 and its release date is autumn 2025 (there is a possibility of delay).”
Okay, but why is this more credible than anything else we might see online?

To this, the OP of the Reddit discussion replied, “He say he doesn’t know what it is, only that it’s a Sonic Heroes game. A Remake sounds life a safe bet.”
Twitter account @moonsdawningcommented, “This is one of those things where I won’t believe it until I see it. BecauseHeroesis one of my favorite games to play through […] I don’t think it will sell as much as it did originally unless they put in that work and remake a lot of things in it.”

We could be getting that long-awaited sequel. Note the “could”. Until it’s announced, fans are scared to get their hopes up too much.
