Spider-Man 4 is moving forward without a key member of the ‘Home’ trilogy

The next Spider-Man film from Marvel and Sony will be moving forward without a key member of the team working on the project.

No, it’s not Tom Holland, there’s no need to worry about that. It’s director Jon Watts.

More Marvel adventures await on Disney+ with the stellarX-Men ‘97

Watts was a very important part of the trilogy that sawSpider-Mantake his place in the MCU.

The director oversaw all three parts of Holland’s outing as the famousMarvelhero and managed to achieve something incredible with his run.

Watts sadly won’t be returning to the MCU for the fourth Spider-Man film.

On his current press tour for the filmWolfs, starring Brad Pitt and George Clooney for Apple, Watts said in aninterview with The Hollywood Reporterthat he had to walk away.

“That was such a specific moment in time, and the reaction to that movie was just so unbelievable,” Watts says. “It’s never going to be like this, ever again.”

He was also considered for the next two Avengers films,Avengers: DoomsdayandAvengers: Secret Wars, before stepping aside for the Russo brothers.

Jon Watts will always be a huge part of the MCU for the fans, giving us a Spider-Man who seems universally loved.

And who could forget the crossover multiverse madness of seeing Maguire and Garfield back on the big screen, something that Watts achieved with gusto.
