Spider-Man fans furious as Tom Hardy’s Venom replacement already teased

Sony seem to be doubling down on Venom despite the end of the Tom Hardy trilogy of films.

According to HollywoodHandleover on Twitter, Sony is currently working on an Agent Venom film.

For those unaware, Agent Venom, in the comics, is Flash Thompson who has returned home after a stint in the Iraq War where he lost his legs.

After becoming attached to the Venom symbiote he becomes Agent Venom and turns into a superhero.

It’s clear that Sony Pictures seesVenomas their superhero blockbuster despite the lack of critical acclaim and the latest entry stalling somewhat at the box office.

Without being able to useSpider-Manthemselves, the studio is doing everything they can to mine the comic book history for the next big thing.

But how can Agent Venom exist? Well, we need to do some spoiling ofVenom: The Last Dance.

Then, in a post-credit scen, a cockroach nears a vial containing a shred of the symbiote.

This could mean that the symbiote jumps to the cockroach, then to Thompson saving his life and bonding with him instead of Eddie Brock.

And then Sony keeps on flogging the Venom-infused dead horse until they finally admit that it would be better for everyone if they just let Marvel do its thing for a bigger percentile share of revenue.

Then we wouldn’t have to deal with awful films likeMorbiusandMadame Web.

This might just be a one-off film with no plans for a franchise, however Sony is so desperate to finally get their hands on anMCUequivalent that I wouldn’t be shocked if they pumped money into this being the next big thing.
