Spider-Man fans roast Kraven The Hunter post-credits leak

A bunch of details regardingSony’supcomingMCU-adjacent movieKraven the Hunterhave leaked online, which has reignited the internet’s bi-yearly pastime of ruthlessly dogpiling on the studio for their stupid attempts at trying to make a Spidey-lessSpider-Manfranchise work.

They also revealed that the movie completely lacks any kind of post-credits scene, which has led many to believe that it won’t even tie into any of the other “Sony Spider-Man Universe” films such asMorbiusorMadame Web.

Most fans refer to it as the “Sony Pictures Universe of Marvel Movies” however (or SPUMM for short).

The shared universe of films is supposed to focus on Spider-Man and his rogue’s gallery, but for some reason they’ve never actually featured any version of Spider-Man - even though Sony bought the rights to use the character back in 1999.

Although the complete details of it have never been made public, it’s widely speculated that this is because of an update made to the deal in 2015.

Sony agreed to letDisneyuse Spider-Man within the MCU, which is why Tom Holland popped up as Spidey in 2016’sCaptain America: Civil War. The deal was then updatedonce again in 2019, allowing Disney to use Spidey in another trilogy of MCU films.

However, it seems the updated deal has in some way denied Sony from using any live-action version of Peter Parker’s Spider-Man in their projects. This is why the SPUMM films can use all of Spidey’s villains, but seemingly can’t even feature a reference to Peter Parker.

So, it’s really no surprise that Spidey doesn’t pop up inKraven the Hunter(in name or otherwise).

Still, we’ll have to wait until December 13, when the film officially hits cinemas, to confirm all of this. I won’t be holding my breath though (or going to watch it in the cinemas).
