Spider-Man fans seriously divided over new series

Earlier this year, Marvel Comics announced a new Spider-Girl and, of course, the internet was all very normal about it.

No. Who am I kidding? Everybody got up in arms.

The problem isn’t, thankfully, that we’re dealing with a Spider-Girl as opposed to aSpider-Man- and that brings me great joy to say.

It’s that fans were disappointed thatMarvelhad opted to create this new Spider-Girl as opposed to revisiting Mayday.

If you’re not familiar with Mayday, she’s taken from a storyline where Peter and Mary Jane’s daughter, May, grows up to become Spider-Girl.

Well, following that initial announcement of a new Spider-Girl, the character is now finally set to debut.

The problem is that we still don’t know much about the character, including her real identity.

In the introductory scene, Daredevil and Spider-Boy are under attack from Bullseye and a mystery assailant throwing spider-tracers.

This individual is then revealed to be Spider-Girl suggesting the character could, rather unexpectedly, be an antagonist.

Designer and artist Michael Cho was responsible for bringing the character to life, and I’m sure we’re going to see plenty more of her in the coming months.

The issue will go on sale on 12 October, so it shouldn’t be long before it lands in our hands.

If you want to catch up on some additional Marvel Comics antics,a new Guardians of the Galaxy team line-uphas just been confirmed.

It’ll be interesting to see whether the MCU takes inspiration given that Gunn’s original film trilogy has drawn to a close, ushering in a new era for the cosmic team.
