What this means, quite likely, is more appearances akin to his debut inCaptain America: Civil Warand his features in the Avengers films.

Due to the complexity of the partnership between Marvel and Sony, every movement ofSpider-Manneeds to be planned out in detail, it’s not like Iron Man who could be thrown into whatever film Feige wanted him in.

What this means in the grand scheme of things is that Spider-Man will likely appear in the upcoming Avengers films,Avengers: DoomsdayandAvengers: Secret Wars, which sees Robert Downey Jr return to the MCU, but as Doctor Doom.

As part of this new deal, Richtman writes that Kevin Feige would oversee all of Tom Holland’s appearances as Spider-Man, giving more creative control to Marvel.

This isn’t much of a surprise, after all, Spider-Man is now Marvel’s money-maker since Iron Man died and Steve Rogers went off to die gracefully from old age (maybe).

Given the events of the previous Avengers films and Peter Parker’s dabbling in the multiverse, he’s likely a big part of the upcoming Avengers duology.

Hopefully, this is a sign of Sony relinquishing some control and letting Marvel just do their thing, it hasn’t gone wrong so far, and Sony can sit back and let the money roll in.
