Great news, a remake of the first Splinter Cell game is apparently on the way, and a reveal is reportedly imminent.
Splinter Cellis one of my favourite video game series of all time, and not just because I share a name with its abrasive and sarcastic protagonist, so news of thefirst game getting remadehas me just as excited as everyone else.

The firstSplinter Cellfollows Sam Fisher who’s sent to Georgia to locate two missing CIA agents, before getting wrapped up in a conspiracy set to cause an international incident.

Splinter Cellhas aged quite a bit, so a remake is definitely in order especially since the series has gone dark for the past few years, with Sam himself making the odd appearance in otherUbisoftgames likeGhost Recon: BreakpointandRainbow Six Siege.

Other rumours suggest the story will be changed slightly toreflect current-day conflictsand social issues.
Hopefully the rumours turn out to be true, as the Splinter Cell series is, in my opinion, one of Ubisoft’s best IPs, and deserves another chance to shine on new-gen hardware.
