Star Wars: Bounty Hunter remaster officially announced for modern consoles

We are firmly in the era of remasters and remakes and while that’s not bad, it’s strange seeing what’s getting chosen over others.

I didn’t think we’d see aStar Wars: Bounty Hunterremaster, to be honest. It’s a very fun game and one that perfectly captured the era of gaming.

The next game in the Star Wars universe will be Ubisoft’sStar Wars Outlawslater this year

Zooming around as Jango Fett and hunting down targets is a great side to see as we usually get nothing but Jedi games.

The original version of the game was well-liked, though not critically acclaimed. You play as Fett who has to hunt down a rogue dark Jedi and it has some interesting set pieces that will excite.

It’s set before the events ofStar Wars: Attack of the Clones, and it fits pretty well inside that story, though of course since theDisneybuyout it’s no longer considered canon.

Originally released for Gamecube and PS2, Star Wars: Bounty Hunter brought something unique to the realm of games and gave us a new take on Star Wars. It’s not often you can use a flamethrower in the galaxy far, far away.

I hope this sparks a wave ofStar Warsremasters if only to playShadows of the Empireonce again from the N64 days.

Because, while we’re living in a remaster era, we’re also living in a good era for Star Wars, where Disney and the creators are exploring new stories to tell.

So far, this is translating into more new dynamic stories, but bringing back some old fan favourites would be nice. There’s a wealth of titles from the early days of PC and console just begging to see the light of day again.
