Do you remember the days when practically every major film would have a video game tie-in?
It’s strange to think thatStar Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith’s video game landed 10 days before the film itself.
As such, fans could experience several of the film’s pivotal scenes ahead of time, albeit in a slightly disjointed manner, switching between playing as Obi-Wan and Anakin.

In fact, the game featured 12 minutes of footage from the film as cutscenes.
You’d never see a contemporary Star Wars film ‘leaking’ that much footage ahead of release day.
TheRevenge of the Sithgame doesn’t recount the film’s events exactly though, namely when it comes to that infamous end sequence on Mustafar.
Of course, in the film, this is where Obi-Wan finally puts a stop to Anakin, with Anakin suffering from intense burns hence his transition into Darth Vader.

In the video game though, there was an alternate version of the scene where it was actually Anakin who prevailed.

In this iteration of the scene, Obi-Wan delivers his famous ‘high ground’ line before Anakin jumps up behind him, impales him with a lightsaber, only to kick Obi-Wan down into Mustafar’s fiery depths.
Anakin then reunites with Palpatine, earning his praise.

It’s interesting to imagine what might have happened if events truly had played out like this.
You do have to wonder if anyone played the game expecting the film to actually end this way.
“With Hayden Christensen back acting as Anakin and already older, along with Natalie Portman being older, it would be really interesting to do a unique live action show about what happened if Anakin won the duel,”suggesteduser jacenborne, and I’d actually quite like to see that.
Marvel hasWhat If?so it stands to reason that Star Wars could launch its own iteration.
