Did you know that Han Solo was meant to be in one of the prequels?
We know right – this is news to us too, yet it’s the truth.
Maybe if Han had starred in the prequels, we’d have been more favourable towards them at the time.

Yes, we’ve seen the light now, but back when they first released theStar Warsprequels, we harshly critiqued them.
With anew set of prequels having been announced, we’re revisiting old stomping grounds to glean as much new lore as we possibly can.
Turns out, Han was meant to appear inStar Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith.

The article that outlined this cameo information is long gone, however, the surprise of a fandom after reading it remains.
“Um… wasn’t Han a beggar on Coruscant during this time?”askedone user.
Fellow Redditor Madock345 was on hand to explain the conflicting information we’ve had over the years.
“In the EU, yes, but the movies have always taken precedent over EU,” they explained.

“If Lucas had decided that Han was on Kashyyyk at that point, then he was, and whatever EU sources contradict that would be out of canon. That kind of thing happens a lot.”
Although not everyone likes this prequel-cameo-that-never-was, others think it slots into the lore of the original trilogy quite nicely.
“Finally, an explanation as to why he can understand Chewbacca,” said a user who’s since been removed from Reddit.
There are other reasons as to why Han can easily communicate with Chewie, but that feels like a different discussion for another day.

Regardless of whether you like the idea of Han spending time on Kashyyk or not is a moot point, for it never happened.
At least not cinematically, anyway.
But knowing itcould haveis something we’ll be mulling over for days to come.
