If you’ve been living under a rock for the past couple of months, then let me give you a little context before we continue: some folks really hateDisney’slatestStar WarsshowThe Acolyte.
Even though the show was relatively popular with critics, a lot of fans in general have been pretty vocal about their hate for it. Now to be fair toThe Acolyte, it doesn’t seem like there’s much stuffStar Warsfans do actually like.
Take a look at our interview with the cast ofThe Acolytebelow
The hate for this show runs a little deeper than the usual kind ofStar Warsfanboy hate though, and that only got worse once the showwas recently cancelled.

“Amazing that Ahsoka cost half the rate per minute but felt so much bigger and more grand”,noted one comment, which is in reference to howAhsokacost $80 million less to produce thanThe Acolyte.
“Only delusional people think the show should have been renewed…”said another comment, “The budget involved, the mediocre return for that money, Disney would never renew this.”
To be completely fair, whichever side of the argument you’re on… it is hard to see how Disney would have justified producing a second season ofThe Acolytewith these kinds of returns.
At the end of the day, they bought theStar WarsIP to make money - not to make art. They’re not that kind of company, and they never will be.
