
Star Wars fans have received a bounty of galactic stories over the years, many of them being great, some missing the mark like a Stormtrooper shooting a womp rat.
What most of them have in common is a darkness and a serious tone that works well, but can often feel oppressive in a galaxy so large. Where are the humour and whimsy?

One film aiming to fall on the light side is Donald Glover’sLandoproject. The actor and director spoke to theWall Street Journalrecently and the topic of the film came up.

Glover said, “I just want it to be fun. As aStar Warsfan myself, I think it’s important that there just needs to be more fun being had, it’s very hard to have fun right now.”
Lando has always seemed a more carefree part of the Star Wars cast with bags of roguish charm, one-liners, and charisma. You’d think that, while he’s been in some scrapes, he’s also had a lot of fun.
Continuing on, the actor said, “[But] part of the human experience, I believe, is we have a responsibility to have enjoyment. And I just feel like we’re lacking in that department.”

He’s not wrong. WhileSkeleton Crewis hoping to bring a more light-hearted feel to the adventures, so much of Star Wars is built on evil things happening.
