WhenStar Wars Outlawsreleased in August this year, it got decent reviews and plenty of fans were impressed with Ubisoft’s romp through a galaxy far, far away. There were plenty who felt it was lacking some polish however, with issues around animation, stealth missions, and the AI-controlled characters.
With the 1.4.0 patch, however, players are reporting a dramatic improvement in those areas, elevating the game to new levels of quality and fun, and you canjump into the action right now for just £39 at Game, down from its full price of £62.99.

The game follows Kay, a smuggler scoundrel in the Han Solo mould who’s out to conduct a heist that will pay off her debt to a crime syndicate. With third-person gameplay blending open-world exploration, gunfights, stealth, speeder bike riding and planet-hopping, this is an expansive rendition of the Star Wars universe that fans will love.
With motion-captured performances and a seamless blend of gameplay and cutscenes, Ubisoft’s goal of creating a cinematic gameplay experience has been well-realised and delivers an immersive, rich experience on par with some of Star Wars’ best stories.
“Overall, a good immersive experience in the Star Wars universe, flirting with some of the bigger stories in places,” said another five-star review. “Graphics are good and solid, sonically it is bang on, and the overall feel is one of a living, breathing galaxy. Recommended, especially if you’re a fan of the environs.”

Some have flagged that its stealth-focused gameplay won’t be for everyone. “The whole idea of an open world Star Wars game is what dreams are made of,” said one review. “For the most part this game is breathtaking, but as the overall gameplay is stealth-based you have to be a fan of sneaking around and avoiding combat to play this game.”
Another said: “The game puts you into way too many stealth only missions and you can’t fight back if you get caught.”
