It would be safe to assume that at some point, content support will end forStardew Valley, especially after the release ofHaunted Chocolatier, but it seems that might not be the case, at least for the immediate future.

Eric Barone, the creator ofStardew Valleyrecentlyspoke toPolygon and when asked about the future of the beloved indie classic, he replied: “I feel like I’m the boy who cried wolf because I’ve said [this is the last update] many times myself, and I always end up making anotherStardew Valleyupdate. So it’s like, I’ll say, who knows? I don’t think I’ll ever officially close the book. The book is always open.”

That is a vague answer from Barone on the future ofStardew Valleybut it should be of some comfort to fans knowing that there is plenty of life in the casual farming sim yet even with the arrival ofHaunted Chocolatieron the way.

Stardew Valleyis available now on PC, PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch and compatible mobile devices.
