Bethesda’s Todd Howard has confirmed thatStarfieldis set to receive yearly story expansions.

Howard recently sat down with YouTuber MrMattyPlays who asked about Bethesda’s support plan forStarfield, particularly whether the studios hopes to drop yearly expansions.
“I would say we want to more or less, yeah,” Howardbegan. “How long that continues? Hopefully, a very long time but that’s … we’re planning for the one after this. So there will be another one. And I don’t know that our goal is to answer every question. We sort of look at it and say, ‘Hey what’s the good angle? What do we want to add to the game as far as an experience or a tone?'"

It sounds then as ifStarfield’s second story expansion is in the works but beyond that, it’s likely going to depend on how active the game’s player base is.
In case you missed it, the upcomingShattered Spaceexpansions brings an entirely hand-crafted new location.
“A mysterious power stirs in the city of Dazra on House Va’Ruun’s hidden homeworld. Investigate a frightening cosmic threat, explore a new planet, and find unique weapons, spacesuits, and gear in this all-new adventure," reads the description of the expansion.
Shattered Spacewill launch later in 2024.
