Starfield fans praise ‘game changing’ immersion booster

Set in a world of infinite possibilities,Starfieldis already quite the immersive RPG. However, thanks to one simple mod, exploration can become even more of a worthwhile experience.

Bethesda’s latest RPGStarfieldhasn’t had the best few weeks. Frombeing snubbedat The Game Awards nominations to dropping down to a“mixed” ratingon Steam, it seems the space exploration title is not living up to fan’s expectations. However, this is perhaps to be expected as players expected an experience similar to Bethesda’s previous titles such asFalloutandThe Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.

Despite going through a rough patch,Bethesdais still determined to makeStarfieldan enjoyable experience for players and so it recently dropped amassive free updatepacked to the brim with highly-requested features.

It is not just the developers putting in the work but modders are also doing what they can do to improveStarfieldeven more. As a result, one modder has recently released ‘Shadowy Shadows’ on Nexus Mods which aims “to reduce fake lighting on flora and ground, make ground and flora shadows more shadowy, and make volumetrics more soft and yummy.”

“IT’S A LOVELY GAME, IT REALLY IS. But. Does the game look ‘off’ at times?” asks the creator. “Not quite scratching the surface of realism as much as you’d hoped for? Is Jemison the ugliest planet with awkwardly bright plants and grass? Wait - don’t answer that - the answer is yes!”
