Starfield mod support will be available on day one, Bethesda confirms

After years of waiting, it’s hard to believe that we’re on the final countdown toStarfield. The game is set to release on 6 September - a mere six weeks away.

Starfieldis absolutely huge. In fact, there areover 1,000 planetsto explore - with at least10% of these containing signs of life. In the past week, we’ve discovered some of thevarious factions and branching pathsavailable in the game - plus the fact that you’ll seemingly be able to play asa space samurai, which sounds pretty cool to me. A series of new shorts teased the abilities todecorate your own apartmentandpilot your own mech, although we haven’t had a concrete answer onBethesdaon either front. We do know that New Atlantis is thelargest city Bethesda has ever createdthough. And yes, worry not. There will be mod support from day one. After all, this is a Bethesda game.

Considering how massive of a gameStarfieldis already, I can’t wait to see just how modders choose to expand the game. We know one modding team is alreadyplanning a multiplayer component.

Speaking of just how largeStarfieldis, we already know the game’sbase file size- and Xbox Game Pass subscribers candownload the game now, so they’re ready to dive in on release day. If you aren’t a completionist, rest assured.Starfield’s main campaign is avery reasonable length.
