Starfield players are confused by the game’s lack of gore compared to Skyrim, Fallout

Bethesda’s previous titles are no stranger to blood and gore. WithThe Elder Scrolls V: Skyrimand the Fallout series under their belt, arrows taking off heads and animals ripping off limbs are a common occurrence. However, for their latest action RPGStarfield, fans have noticed the lack of blood on their journey across the Settled Systems.

With action-packed gameplay and guns galore, some players expected more than the occasional blood splatter, but Bethesda seemingly turned it down in their latest title. A hatchet to the head may result in the desired effect and many corpses across the worlds have seemingly died in gruesome ways but as to how much gore we can cause, it is limited. Even enemies that have gone through the ringer end up looking pretty intact when players are done with them.

Some others were disappointed that rivet guns no longer “pin enemies to the wall” with another detailing how you can enter one apartment and “find blood everywhere” but the body is still perfectly intact.

Although we aren’t sure whyBethesdahas toned down the violence, some believe it is due toStarfieldappearing much more family friendly thanSkyrimand Fallout. This seems a bit far-fetched considering the game still features a whole lot of murder and violence. However, this could in fact have been the approach Todd Howard and Bethesda were going for.

However, with the game recently hitting a10 million player milestone, its lack of gore isn’t stopping people from enjoying their time amongst the stars.
