Without getting too technical, AMD’S FSR 3 significantly increases the resolution and framerate of games, provided you’ve got the hardware to actually notice the change. It fits right at home withStarfield, as the game already boasts some stunning views depending on the planet you’d landed on, so that boosted framerate is simply the cherry on top.
If you’re playing the game on Steam and have a powerful PC this update is well worth a go, though if you’d rather wait for the trial to end and the update to go mainstream you may have a smoother experience once all the kinks have been ironed out.
In other news, fears thatStarfieldwouldmake the jump to the PlayStation 5have gradually dissipated. There have been several industry rumours that Xbox would become a third-party company and make all of its exclusive games multiplatform. The head of Xbox, Phil Spencer, recently addressed the rumours on the Xbox podcast, sayingfour games will indeed be getting ported to other consoles, thoughStarfieldisn’t one of them.
That doesn’t mean Bethesda’s space-faring RPG will never become a PS5 game as that could obviously change in the next few years, but for now Xbox fans can rest easy knowing Starfield isn’t going anywhere anytime soon.
