Starfield teaser confirms one of Skyrim’s best features

Starfieldis bringing over one of the best features from previous Bethesda games, and we can’t wait.

The countdown toStarfieldis well and truly upon us. Having already heard talk ofhorrifying aliens to rival Fallout’s Deathclaws, a lot of fans are dying to experience the good, the bad, and the ugly of the game.

Take a look atStarfieldin action below!

However, while aliens are exciting, nothing quite beats finding out that one of our biggest pet peeves will haunt us no more. That’s right, we’re talking about customisation. Fortunately, those concerned with customisation can breathe a sigh of relief asStarfieldwill allow you change character appearance later in-game.

Bethesda is no stranger to ensuring fans have complete control over their characters’ appearance, thanks to previous games likeFallout 3, Fallout 4,andSkyrim(to name a few). Yet, as some fans have pointed out, later in-game customisation is still a rarity from other games and developers.

Given the“astonishing” number of side questspromised, players need to know their progress won’t be lost in the name of vanity. After all, nobody likes getting 30+ hours into a game and then realising that the colour of your characters’ eyebrows don’t quite match their hair.

Freedom from that worry will allow players to jump into the game a lot quicker, unburdened with the cold sweat that they may have to restart several missions down the line. However, whileStarfieldwill allow you to change appearance, there are some details about your character that will be locked in once you start the game. Specifically, your characters’ background.

Obviously it makes sense that you can’t go into your character’s dossier and just edit/delete large chunks of their past. Not only would that make no sense whatsoever, but it would also cause numerous plothole issues later down the line.

If you’re chomping at the bit and can’t wait any longer to exploreStarfield, you’re in luck (kinda) becauseStarfieldis available to downloadthis week.

Despite being able to download it early, remember thatStarfielddoesn’t actually release until 6 September 2023.
