While the majority couldn’t be more hyped for its release, some are concerned about the game’s performance. Aside from the possibility that its release isfull of game breaking bugsand other technical issues, much like previous Bethesda gameslikeFallout 4, many players won’t be able to crank up the game’s performance on their current hardware.
Xbox Series X/S players are unfortunatelylimited to 30FPS, which is something they’re trying to overturnwith a petitionthat’s going nowhere, but PC players have the opportunity to play the game at its full potential, provided they can run it.
Bethesda recently publishedStarfield’ssystem requirementsonSteam, revealing that it’ll take a prettymonstrous PCto experience the game as the developers intended, which is bad news for anyone holding onto their lower-end hardware. Aside from needing a pretty powerful graphics card and a generous amount of RAM,Starfieldmay be the first PC game to require an SSD, not just hard-drive space.
It’s more than likely the majority of PC players will be able to run the game fairly well, but some will inevitably have to think about upgrading if they want to play the game at its best.
