Starfield’s massive level cap confirms we’ll never finish this damn game

If you thought you were prepared to dive intoStarfield, you may want to think again. One developer has just revealed thatStarfieldhas an infinite level cap. Damn. I was already scared of the number of hours I’m going to lose to this game. I guess that’s now only going to increase. You know how to lure me in Bethesda.

Starfieldis mere days away from release. In fact, on 1 September, I’m imagining many of you will be diving into the game’s early access period. You canstart creating your characterright now. It might be a good idea to get ahead seeing asStarfieldhasover 1,000 planetsto explore across 100 star systems. The game doesn’t even end when you roll the credits. Bethesda hasteased a “unique and exciting twist”on New Game Plus. Consider me very intrigued. As we near release, many players are picking outwhich companion they’re going to romance. You may be too busy to hold down a relationship though (in-game I mean), seeing asStarfieldhas an infinite level cap. You heard me.

Take a look atStarfield’s incredible new cinematic trailer below.

Oh my. Infinite levels? I’m imagining that someone is sitting there reading this right now, planning how they’re going to be the first person to reach level one million. Hines did add though, “I mean, I don’t think we have one, but no one’s hit it.” You’d think there is a limit at some point. Still, I’m imagining it’s going to take an absolute age for someone to reach such a limit.

As GamesRadar points out,Skyrimalso didn’t have a level cap but you’d max out skills at level 81 making levelling up pointless so it’s likely thatStarfieldcould follow a similar format. It won’t be long until we find out what the game has in store.
