Starfield’s most concerning rumour has finally been confirmed, and PC gamers are the ones who will have to pay the price.

Unfortunately, now thatStarfieldis out in the wild, we have official confirmation ofone of the game’s most concerning rumours: the open-world RPG does not include support for Nvidia’s Deep Learning Super Sampling (DLSS).

Sure enough, a quick blast throughStarfield’s PC settings confirm there are but two upscaling options: FSR2 or FidelityFX Contrast Adaptive Sharpening (CAS). You can also turn off upscaling completely, if you’d rather. It’s also worth noting thatStarfielddoesn’t currently support Intel’s supersampling tech, either.
This isn’t really a huge surprise, since Bethesda and AMDpartnered up to be exclusive bestiesfor the release ofStarfield. Even so, there are plenty of PC gamers who aren’t exactly happy that there’s no support for Nvidia’s hugely popular tech.
The good news is that DLSS support being added somewhere down the line isn’t out of the question. AMD’s gaming chief Frank Azor explained toThe VergeBethesda can absolutely implement DLSS if it ever wants to. I suspect the demand will almost certainly be there, so perhaps this exclusivity deal will end up being a timed one.
