A popular adventure game that was delisted on Steam a while back has returned as a free download.
There are plenty offree gamesforPCgamers, but it’s certainly rare that a title we thought was gone forever makes a return - much less as a free download.
The 2014 first-person adventureBetrayerwas first released onSteamin 2014. However, as perDelisted Games,Betrayerwas removed from Valve’s digital storefront in 2021. Developer and publisher Blackpowder Games has remained silent on social media and the game’s Steam community forum since 2015. Since nobody has been around to support the title, it’s been delisted.

This is, of course, all too common an occurrence in the digital age. But where a lot of games might have vanished from the ether forever, digital storefront GOG has announced thatBetrayercan now be found on its own dedicated GOG store pagehere. Better yet, it won’t cost you a penny.
The game’s official description:“Betrayeris a first person action adventure game that takes you to the New World at the turn of the 17th century.
“The year is 1604. You sailed from England expecting to join a struggling colony on the coast of Virginia. Instead, you find only ghosts and mysteries. What catastrophe blighted the land and drained it of color and life? Where are the settlers and tribes who lived here?

While I’m not certain thatBetrayer’s disappearance two years ago caused much upset (it’s a fairly obscure game), it’s nice to see it get a second chance at life. Hopefully now it can find an entirely new audience.
