Developer Woziva is makingDemonsomniainUnreal Engine 5, and the murky bodycam aesthetic of the game definitely suits the horror vibe nicely. You’ll also be able to play alone if you can’t round up three other friends to play with, which is always welcome news for someone who generally dislikes other people as much as I do.
IfDemonsomniacan nail the gameplay loop of exploring a haunted forest for gear before heading to the mansion to hunt down a demon with friends, then it could be one of the year’s best surprises. I haven’t had the chance to play the demo myself, but impressions from across Reddit suggest the moment-to-moment action could still do with some polishing. In other words, keep your expectations in check if you plan to give this one a go, and hope Woziva can smooth things out before April.
