In 2019, The Witcher was adapted into a live-action series onNetflix. For what it was, I enjoyed the series, at least for the first couple of seasons. Being a huge fan of the novels and video games,Henry Cavill is the perfect casting choiceas Geralt of Rivia. However, before the arrival of season three, Henry Cavill announced thathe was leaving the series.

It’s not been officially confirmed why Cavill has leftThe Witcher. The most common speculation is that the actor had regular conflicts with the showrunners for not being faithful to the source material from the Andrzej Sapkowski novels. It’s been guessed that Cavill would often correct or suggest ideas, which apparently did not go down well with the showrunners. Going forward, Liam Hemsworth, brother ofMCUstar Chris, will be playing the role of Geralt of Rivia. With Cavill being so beloved, recasting the role hasn’t gone down well with a lot of fans.

“Saw that too haha, sucks we got the Netflix adaptation but at least we’ll always have the games!” replied TheRealPyroManiac on the thread. “What Netflix adaptation? There is no Netflix adaptation,” exclaimed Vompat.
