Steam refund policy changed so you can get your money back, no questions asked

What a messy ol’ week it’s been. The Day Before offered an ambitious and impressive pitch, although one that it could not fulfil. The game finally launched this week and players havelabelled it a scam. Whilst it claimed to be an open-world MMO, it ended up being an extraction shooter. The visuals paled in comparison to those shown off during gameplay teases, plus there’s the fact thatThe Day Beforeis packed with bugs and glitches. Players were falling through the floor of the first room. Not exactly the best start.

Back when it was announced,The Day Beforegenerated a ton of hype with its vision.

A few days after release,The Day Beforewas pulled from sale with studioFntastic also announcing its closure, explaining that they do not have the funds to continue supporting the game. The servers will remain operational for now but if that fact simply doesn’t interest you, you will be able to apply for a refund.

Typically onSteam, you cannot refund a game if you’ve played more than two hours. That rule has been withdrawn for those with a copy ofThe Day Before. You can apply regardless of your playtime. Simply head to Steam’s support page and make sure you’re logged in on the account you purchasedThe Day Beforeon.

Click that you need help with a purchase and then selectThe Day Before. Choose the reason for refunding, complete the rest of the form, and submit. Steam appears to be respecting allThe Day Beforerefund requests so you don’t need to be too specific about the reason for your application. Hopefully that brings some closure to this debacle.
