Steam users are delighted with brand-new review system

Steam users are absolutely delighted with a new feature that’s been rolled out onto the store page, as it actually makes review pages useful.

It’s always a good idea to get the viewpoint of critics before dropping your hard-earned cash on a new game.

For instance, you can see our viewpoint onStar Wars Outlawsso far with the below preview…

That being said, critic opinions are finite, and if you want a broader idea of what a game is like, user reviews are a near-perfect way to get the general consensus.

LuckilySteamhas addressed this problem in its own store page, and updated it to separate the jokes from the serious criticism.

The difference is night and day, and I’ll leave it up to other Steam users to tell you for themselves.

“I really hope those stupid, irrelevant, and copy-pasta reviews get nuked permanently”saidone user, who’s clearly been burned a few too many times with the jokes reviews.

“Can see a lot of difference to help new buyers” said someone else.

Finally one user said “Really hope this destroys the clown farms. Not completely, ofc, as long as those awards exist and give points, the problem will be there, but still a great step forward.”

Hopefully similar action is taken on Xbox platforms, which has a similar problem with meme reviews, and whenever PlayStation decides to add user-reviews to its store pages let’s hope moderation is part of the package.
