
One of Xbox’s exclusive fighting games is going free-to-play on Steam.
If you’re in the mood for a PC fighting game but don’t want to splurge onMortal Kombat1orStreet Fighter 6, we’ve got the next best thing,Killer Instinct.

The 2D fighter launched on theXboxOne andPCyears ago but unfortunately didn’t get a chance to shine given the disappointing reception toMicrosoft’slatest console at the time.

Fast forward a few years later and the fighting game found another home on PC, where it was less popular, but still had enough players to justify its release and continued updates.
This includes all characters, a double XP booster for online play, and accessories for the fighters.

For those who want to play the game for free, you’ll be able to do so but only with access to one fighter. Who that fighter will be will be dependent on a rotation system, which will swap the available fighters around from week to week.
It’s currently unknown when the free-to-play version ofKiller Instinctwill launch on PC as a release date hasn’t been shared as of yet. It’s likely it’ll coincide with the release ofKiller Instinct: Anniversary Editionas an alternative to paying for the more pricey version of the game.
