Steam users nominate Red Dead Redemption 2 for post-launch support award, oof

There’s nothing quite like roasting developers through game awards voting, and Steam users are doing this in spectacular fashion, with them nominatingRed Dead Redemption 2for the Labour of Love Award, aka the post-launch support award.

It’s magnificently brutal.

Seems fitting that we should watch someRed Dead Redemption 2epic fails (and wins)!

That being said, we will concede that there are several hidden gems within the base game ofRDR2that make it what it is today, such as hearingArthur Morgan singingwhile riding his horse, or theNSFW activitiesgoing on behind open curtains. Why else would players be starting new playthroughs five years after its release? It’s thanks to the longevity it offers, predominately through its creative players.

Yet, while many playthroughs are still active, Rockstar isn’t quick to offer assistance. Nowadays, it’s focused onGTA 6and making sure it actually delivers rather than ending up an overhyped disappointment like Bethesda’sStarfield. But still, back whenRDR2was freshly released, the devs were still very reluctant to do any supporting of any kind.

Running alongsideRDR2for this prestigiousSteamaward areApex Legends, DOTA 2, Deep Rock Galatica, andRust. Honestly, we doubt the others stand a chance, not when players are so determined to make this award a statement about Rockstar’s many failings. And, honestly, we’re here for this level of brutality.

Voting opens on 21 Decemberand will close on 2 January 2024, meaning you’ve got plenty of time to tip the scales in the favour ofRDR2. Go on, my pretties, do it for the chaos… do it for the lols.
